The guesthouse lease was up and I had to move to an apartment in Velachery. This was the flooded street outside the apartment complex a couple of weeks ago. It's dry now.

Several severe storms hit Chennai this year after a four year drought. Many lost their homes adding to the toll of the tsunami.

They have modern school buses in Chennai (for the more well-to-do schools) but I'm sure taking the rickshaw bus is a lot more fun! This picture was taken on a school holiday (Diwali) so the driver is getting a well deserved rest.
